Lionel Messi outperformed Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe and won the FIFA Men’s Player of the Year for 2023.
Aitana Bonmati, Spain’s World Cup winner, got the best women’s player award. Messi played a key role in Inter Miami’s Leagues Cup win. He joined MLS after clinching the Ligue 1 title with PSG. Haaland, who had a remarkable season at Manchester City, ended second. Guardiola, Manchester City’s coach, won the Best Men’s Coach, and Wiegman, England’s coach, received the Best Women’s Coach.
Ederson from Manchester City and Mary Earps from England earned the Best Men’s Goalkeeper and Best Women’s Goalkeeper awards.
