Argentine Lionel Messi secured the FIFA Men’s Player of the Year for 2023, surpassing Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
Aitana Bonmati, Spain’s 2023 World Cup winner, earned the best women’s player award. Messi, a pivotal figure in Inter Miami’s Leagues Cup victory, moved to the MLS after winning the Ligue 1 title with PSG. Haaland, with an outstanding season at Manchester City, finished second in the men’s award. Pep Guardiola, City’s coach, received the Best Men’s Coach, and Sarina Wiegman, England’s coach, won the Best Women’s Coach.
Ederson from Manchester City and Mary Earps from England secured the Best Men’s Goalkeeper and Best Women’s Goalkeeper awards, respectively.
