Goats can eat your Christmas tree – level 1
02-01-2025 07:00
Don’t throw away your Christmas tree! You can give it to goats instead.
A Chicago farm is taking old pine trees to feed their 15 Nigerian pygmy goats. The trees are healthy for the goats. They give them vitamins A and C. You can drop off trees at South Chicago Farm until January 11. Make sure the trees do not have decorations, hooks, or fire sprays. These can hurt the goats.
If you can’t give your tree to the goats, you can recycle it with the city. From January 11–25, you can bring your tree to one of 27 locations. The trees will turn into mulch for parks and gardens.
Difficult words: hook (a curved device for catching or holding things), recycle (to use again), mulch (pieces of wood which we use in gardening).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What precautions should be taken before dropping off your old Christmas tree at South Chicago Farm for the goats?
