Highway in Peru – level 1

People are extending a highway in Peru. However, there is not enough land for the highway. There are houses in the way. These houses must be destroyed.

People live in the houses, but they must go away. They do not like it. They do not want to go away.

Police come to their houses. The people fight the police. In the end, the police force the people away.

This is a big problem in Peru. It is a problem in all of Latin America, too.

Difficult words: extend (make something bigger), force (make somebody do something – use force to do it).
