How much the war with Iran costs the US – level 3

09-04-2026 07:00

The war between the US and Iran is now in its second month.

There is a lot of talk about the high cost of this conflict. In the first few days, the war cost over 11 billion dollars. This is because the US used many expensive missiles that cost 3.5 million dollars each.

Experts say that by the 12th day, the US was spending 385 million dollars every day. This rate of spending is even higher than it was during the start of the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan. Because the war is taking place near important oil routes, the price of oil is rising around the world. In some places, oil prices are the highest they have been since 2008. This makes everything more expensive, from food to plane tickets. In Pakistan, the government had to raise petrol prices by 43% overnight.

People are worried because no one knows when the war will end. At the same time, President Trump made a big change in his government by removing Pam Bondi from her job as Attorney General.

Difficult words: missile (a powerful weapon that flies through the air and is sent to hit a specific target far away), attorney general (the most important lawyer in the government who is the leader of the country’s legal department).
