Israel is attacked by Iran – level 2
04-10-2024 07:00
On Tuesday, Iran fired missiles at Israel.
People could hear sirens, and they got messages on their phones telling them to stay near bomb shelters. The day before, Lebanon fired some rockets at Israel, so Israel started to fight back on the ground in southern Lebanon. Israel attacked some villages in Lebanon, and people there had to evacuate. A group called Hezbollah in Lebanon fired more rockets at Israel.
The conflict got worse, and people started to worry that it could turn into a war. There were no reports of people getting hurt right away, but Israel and the United States said that if Iran attacked Israel, they would respond to the attack.
Difficult words: missile (a weapon which travels in the air and hits a place), siren (a device which makes a loud warning noise), evacuate (to leave a place because it is dangerous to stay).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
