Israeli Prime Minister Charged – level 1

Authorities charge Israeli Prime Minister of three criminal acts. This is the first time in history when it happens.

The Prime Minister does not agree with the charges. He wants to stay Prime Minister. He says that he wants to fight with lies. He wants to continue to lead the country.

The charges are very serious. However, the Prime Minister says that he does nothing wrong. He believes that some people want him to leave his job.

He only has one month to ask the government for immunity. It is not easy to get immunity. The political situation is very complicated now. The government does not work very well. It can take a long time to charge the Prime Minister formally.

Difficult words: charge (to say formally that someone does something bad), serious (very bad or dangerous), immunity (a situation when a political person is protected and cannot get charged of a crime).
