A young woman from Australia, Holly Bowles, dies in Laos. She is with her best friend, Bianca Jones, who also dies. They both die because of poison from alcohol called methanol.
Other people also die, a lawyer from the UK and two young people from Denmark. They are in a town called Vang Vieng. This place is popular among tourists. Some people who get sick must go to hospital in Thailand.
Methanol can be very dangerous. The victims stay at Nana Hostel. Now, many tourists are leaving the town. Some people are afraid to go to Laos, but some are not worried. It is important to be careful when you travel.
