Manchester United’s new stadium – level 1
14-03-2025 15:00
Manchester United will build a new football stadium with 100,000 seats. It will be the biggest in the UK.
The club says it will be the best stadium in the world. They think it will help the UK. It will bring a lot of money every year. The stadium will also help Old Trafford by making new jobs and homes.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe says that the old stadium is very good but also old. The new one will be next to it, so the club’s history stays.
The government wants to help the north of England, and this stadium is important. Manchester United hopes it will be a special place, like Wembley.
Difficult words: stadium (a big place where people watch sports), history (things which happen in the past), important (when something matters very much).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How will the new stadium boost the UK's economy and improve the local community while preserving the club’s history?
