Men stay in a cave for one week – level 2
02-06-2026 07:00
Rescuers in Laos saved the first man from a group of five villagers who were trapped in a cave for more than a week.
The men went into the cave to look for gold, but heavy rain came quickly and filled the cave with water. One man escaped in time and informed the police. On Wednesday, divers found the other five men alive, about 300 meters from the exit. The rescuers gave them water, food, and warm blankets. On Friday night, they brought the first man out, and he went to see a doctor. The work to save the other four men stopped for one day because it is very difficult.
Rescuers are also looking for two more missing people. The water is very deep, and the passages are very narrow. Some of these rescuers also helped save the young football team in Thailand in 2018.
Difficult words: trapped (unable to escape from a dangerous or closed place), cave (a large natural hole under the ground or in the side of a hill or cliff), exit (a way out of a building, room, or closed space).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What were the men looking for when they went into the cave?
