Poland is leading the EU Council for the next six months. This comes after Hungary’s time and many arguments with EU countries.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk plans to focus on security and peace. Poland wants to improve energy, food, and economic safety and fight against fake news. Poland will also work to help Ukraine, make more weapons in Europe, and connect military industries. Poland is a neighbor to Russia and Ukraine and spends a lot on defense. Since the Ukraine war started, the country became an even more important NATO and EU member.
Inside Poland, politics could make things harder. Prime Minister Tusk and President Duda have different views, and elections are coming soon. Poland hopes to do well as EU leader.
