Pope Francis in the USA – level 2
28-09-2015 15:00
Pope Francis was on a six-day tour in the United States. He met with Barack Obama last Wednesday. The pope said that climate change is a problem which we must address. We cannot pass this problem to future generations.
Pope Francis also spoke to a joint meeting with the Senate and the House of Representatives. He is the first pope to do this, and he a standing ovation met him.
After addressing Congress, Francis spoke to a group of 200 people. The Catholic Charities group serves these people.
Difficult words: address (to think and do something about something), standing ovation (when an audience claps and stands), serve (to help).
You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
What do you think about the Pope’s visit?
