Robots clean Sydney Harbor – level 1
27-02-2025 07:00
Sydney Harbour has many boats. Boats use fuel, and this makes the air dirty. A company in Sydney made robots to help clean the water.
The first robot is called PBot. It cleans slime from boats. Slime makes boats slow, so they use more fuel. Cleaning them helps boats move faster and use less fuel. The company also wants to stop using special boat paint. This paint is bad for fish.
The second robot is called CBot. It helps the ocean. It removes sea urchins. These animals hurt other sea life. The robot also takes pictures to help scientists. These robots help keep the water clean and keep the natural world safe.
Difficult words: slime (a dirty, sticky layer), remove (to take away), sea urchin (a sea creature with a hard shell and long sharp points).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What impact do cleaning slime from boats and removing sea urchins have on fuel use, water quality, and marine life?
