Severe Storms in Italy – level 2
12-11-2018 15:00
In Italy, extreme storms, wind, and rain caused damage and killed at least 14 people. Many of them died from debris or falling trees.
The storms filled up dams, knocked down trees, flooded homes, and created mudslides that blocked roads and made buildings fall down hills. Italy’s fire and rescue service showed videos so that people could know what happened.
Difficult words: debris (pieces of broken things), dam (a lake which holds water because people built a wall), mudslide (when water causes the land to move like water).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
