Solar eclipse – level 1
18-10-2023 07:00
Many people in the Americas watched a special event, a solar eclipse.
It happens when the moon moves in front of the sun. It makes a ‘ring of fire’ in the sky. Oscar Lopez is 26 years old. He travels from Mexico City to see the eclipse. He thinks it is amazing. The eclipse’s path goes from the US to the ocean.
In Campeche, hundreds of people watch the moon slowly move in front of the sun. Isaac asks his girlfriend to marry him during the eclipse.
Difficult words: eclipse (when an object comes between the sun or moon and people cannot see it for a short time), amazing (great or beautiful), path (how a person or thing is moving).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What effects did the solar eclipse have on the crowd in Campeche?
