Teachers in Mexico protest – level 1
23-03-2026 07:00
Many teachers in Mexico are not happy. They want more money for their work. They walk in the streets of Mexico City.
Thousands of people go to the main square. They stop work for three days. They want to talk to the president. The teachers make a camp in the square. They stay there for a long time. They say that there must be better rules. They want to change the rules.
If the president does not help, teachers will protest again. Teachers in many cities are part of this plan. They want a good life for every teacher.
Difficult words: square (an open area in a village or city where people can meet), camp (a place where people stay in tents for a short time, often outside), protest (to come together to show that you are angry or unhappy about something).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What did the teachers hope to achieve by camping in the main square of Mexico City?
