Pavel Durov is the founder and boss of the Telegram messaging app. French police arrest him at an airport.

Durov has both French and UAE citizenship. It means that he can legally stay in France and UAE. The police are looking into Telegram’s content. Russia is angry and says that French authorities must respect Durov’s rights. Some people in Russia say that the arrest is about politics. Telegram is a popular messaging app, especially in Russia and Ukraine.

Elon Musk says that the arrest is wrong. He says that people in Europe cannot speak freely. Durov wants to keep people’s messages safe on Telegram, even when governments ask him for information.
