Wildfire in Brazil – level 3

Around 200 volunteers across Brazil joined firefighters to help control a wildfire which wreaked havoc on one of the country’s national parks.

The volunteers provided transport, meals and manpower to the local fire services. Altogether, almost 400 people helped to battle the blaze which they brought under control last Monday.

The fire burned since October 10th and people said it has burnt nearly 160,000 acres.

Difficult words: wreak havoc (cause large destruction), battle (fight), blaze (fire).
