Charity helps young people with cancer – level 1

08-01-2025 07:00

Teenage Cancer Trust is helping young people with cancer. Every day, seven young people in the UK, aged 13 to 24, hear they have cancer.

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only charity in the UK which helps them. The charity provides nurses, youth workers, and special hospital spaces. These places feel more like home. Young people feel less alone. They get a good care. Ben Peters, who gets cancer at 21, says that the charity helps him feel better and make friends.

More young people have cancer nowadays. The government does not have enough money. You can help the charity yourself and help young people.

Difficult words: charity (an organization which helps people in need), provide (to give something to someone who needs it), nowadays (at present).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What services does the Teenage Cancer Trust provide for young people diagnosed with cancer in the UK?
