Charity helps young people with cancer – level 2
08-01-2025 07:00
Every day in the UK, seven people aged 13 to 24 hear that they have cancer. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only charity in the UK which helps them with nurses, youth workers, and special hospital spaces.
These services aim to help young people continue their lives despite cancer. The charity’s leader says that more young people have cancer, and at the same time, there is a problem with money. It is a tough time for the organization, but young people need it more than ever. The charity runs 28 hospital units across the UK. These units help young people feel comfortable, meet others of their age, and get good care.
Donations to the charity will help keep these services and make people understand what teen cancer patients go through.
Difficult words: charity (an organization which helps people in need), youth (the time between being a child and adult), donation (money or things which you give to help a person or organization).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What services does the Teenage Cancer Trust provide to young cancer patients in the UK and how do these services aim to help them?
