Documents about killing John F. Kennedy – level 2
24-03-2025 07:00
The US government released secret documents about the 1963 killing of President John F. Kennedy. President Trump announced 80,000 new pages, but many are not online yet.
Journalist Jefferson Morley says new information proves that the official story of Lee Harvey Oswald acting alone is false. Doctors believed that the shooting happened from two directions, and the CIA secretly watched Oswald before the attack. Morley says the CIA hid and still hides important details. The agency says releasing all information could harm national security, but many people think they only want to keep a good reputation. Politicians want the full truth. Researchers hope these new documents will tell us more about the events of November 22, 1963.
Difficult words: release (to make something available), prove (to show that something is true), reputation (what people think of someone).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What reasons are provided to doubt the claim that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, and what are the different parties hoping to achieve with the release of new documents?
