LA fires – level 1
14-01-2025 07:00
Big fires are burning in Los Angeles. Ten people die. Many people must leave their homes. About 180,000 people are not safe. Many houses are gone, and everything looks terrible.
Firefighters are trying to stop the fires with water from planes. Some fires are new. The police think that someone starts a fire. They catch a person and ask questions.
Many people come back to their homes. Everything burns. People find only ashes. Even big, nice houses of celebrities are gone. The President says that he will help the people. More firefighters are coming to help, but the fires are still very big and scary.
Difficult words: gone (away), ashes (what is there when something burns), scary (making people scared or worried).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What actions are the firefighters and the President taking to help the people affected by the fires in Los Angeles?
