Looking after children in Gaza – level 1

10-01-2025 15:00

Amal Alabadla lives in Gaza. She has her baby, Mohamed, on October 7, 2023. Her older son, Noah, is just 18 months old. Amal is having a hard time because of the bombing, no food, and moving from place to place.

Amal’s husband is far away in the West Bank. He cannot come home because of the war. He never meets baby Mohamed. Amal says it is very scary. She holds her children close during bombs and tries to stay strong for them.

Israel says it does not hurt people and is fighting dangerous groups. Amal says her children make her happy and help her keep going.

Difficult words: bombing (dropping bombs), scary (making you feel frightened).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What are the challenges Amal Alabadla is facing as she raises her children in Gaza during the war?
