Norovirus in the US – level 1
03-01-2025 15:00
Norovirus is making people sick in the US. There are more cases now than usual. There are 91 cases in one week.
The virus makes you sick, with diarrhea, and stomach pain. Most people get better fast. But babies and old people can get very sick if they lose a lot of water. To stop the virus, wash your hands with soap and water. Hand gels do not work well. Be careful when you make food. Keep everything clean. You can still make others sick some days after you feel better.
Flu, COVID-19, and RSV are also a problem. Vaccines can help keep you safe. Masks and tests are good for people who could get very sick.
Difficult words: case (one sick person), diarrhea (watery stool), vaccine (a shot to stop sickness).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What precautions can be taken to prevent the spread of Norovirus and who are the most vulnerable to this virus?
