Pope Francis is back in the Vatican – level 1

25-03-2025 15:00

Pope Francis is in the Vatican after staying in hospital for five weeks.  Pope Francis is in hospital because of a lung disease called pneumonia.

He is 88 years old and had a lot of health problems. Doctors say he needs two months to rest. After leaving the hospital, he waves and smiles at people. He uses a wheelchair. He looks weak. He thanks a woman who brings flowers for him. His voice is weak because of his long illness.

Doctors say that it will take time for him to feel better.

Difficult words: rest (to relax), wheelchair (a chair to transport a person who cannot walk), weak (not strong).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

How do his actions and appearance after leaving hospital reflect the challenges he continues to face with his health?
